About Alex C.

Founder of Healthify.info – My Health Recovery Journey

Hi, I’m Alex C., the founder and writer behind Healthify.info — a space dedicated to exploring real-world health, supplements, and recovery from the inside out.

I’m not a doctor or medical professional. My knowledge comes from fifteen years of lived experience rebuilding my body and brain health from the ground up.

My Story

In my early twenties (around 2010–2012), I made a series of very bad health decisions that left my nervous system and body in ruins. The combination of medications, alcohol, and unwise supplement choices caused severe damage to my brain chemistry and led to protein sensitivities, malnutrition, and neuro-inflammation.

For years, I lived with a leaky gut and compromised blood-brain barrier — fuelling a cycle of extreme sensitivity, fatigue, and cognitive decline. It felt like I was functioning at only 10–20% of my potential.

Through persistence, research, and trial-and-error, I slowly began to climb back — from 10% to 35%, and today I estimate I’m operating around 70% recovered and still improving.

What Changed Everything

After a decade of struggling with medication side effects and food sensitivities, things finally began to shift through a combination of:

  • Medically prescribed ketamine treatments that I believe reversed kindling, helped reset my brain chemistry, emotional regulation, and sparked real neuroplastic healing

  • High-quality, medically prescribed CBD to support nerve, mood, and kindling recovery

  • Carefully chosen supplements that accelerated repair and balanced neurotransmitters

  • A gradual return to an omnivorous diet, reversing long-term nutrient deficiencies and restoring resilience

  • Complete abstinence from alcohol since 2014, one of the most important decisions of my life

  • Breaking free of long-term antipsychotic medication once it was no longer serving my recovery

  • Finding a balance of benign low-dose medications including some off-label, that support and improve health outcomes without detrimental side effects

My Approach and Experience

Since this turning point, I’ve experimented with hundreds of supplements, including many I was sensitive to in the past — studying their interactions, benefits, and risks firsthand. I’ve learned through careful research and cautious experimentation what actually supports lasting health, and I know from the painful mistakes of the past what to avoid (the supplement industry is a minefield if you don’t know what you’re doing).

Some key lessons from that journey include:

  • Understanding, managing, and recovering from serotonin sensitivity and toxicity

  • Healing gut and nervous system dysfunction through nutrition, amino balance, and microbiome support

  • Reversing long-term issues caused by alcohol kindling and medication damage

  • Finding a sustainable balance between science, experimentation, and self-care

While I’m not qualified to diagnose or treat medical conditions, I write from personal experience, evidence-based research, and lived trial-and-error — with the goal of helping others avoid the mistakes I made and discover what truly supports long-term recovery.

Every approach I write about is grounded in a blend of research and real-world results.
Wherever possible, I’ll back up claims with links to authoritative sources — scientific studies, expert reviews, or recognised health organisations.
That said, I’ll also share what has worked for me personally, even when science hasn’t fully caught up. In those cases, I’ll clearly note that the approach is experimental or anecdotal, so readers can make informed choices for themselves.

My Mission with Healthify.info

I built Healthify.info to share:

  • Honest supplement reviews and personal experiences

  • Research-backed insights written in plain English

  • Tools and ideas for people recovering from brain health challenges, chronic fatigue, burnout, pain, or medication side effects

  • Thoughts on nutrition, fitness, and resilience — from someone who’s been there

Every post reflects my ongoing education in self-healing, neurochemistry, and holistic recovery.

A Final Note

If my story helps even one person avoid the mistakes I made, or helps one person who’s going through a similar struggle, it’s worth it.
With the right mindset, knowledge, and patience, the body and brain can recover far more than most people believe possible.

Never give up — keep learning, keep cautiously experimenting, and keep moving forward.
